Metis Nation British Columbia, MNBC, in partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) are piloting a Métis-specific Community Support Worker program to long-term unemployed or underemployed Métis people. The program has been funded by the government of Canada, through the Canada-British Columbia Job fund, and the Province of B.C.
The Community Support Worker program is not new to UFV, however this is the first time it is being offered with an emphasis on supporting Métis people, and will also have cultural components woven throughout the course curriculum & activities!
