Yúusnewas team at YouthCO will be hosting a 5 day filmmaking retreat for Indigenous youth across BC called First Directions. This is a unique opportunity for youth to learn about how colonization has affected our health, find information on how to take care of ourselves, and to learn how to make and edit films on subjects that are important to youth.
This year our theme is ‘Reclaiming Our Bodies’ which includes learning about our bodies and sexual wellbeing in a shame-free environment, considering the emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical aspects of our health, and empowering young people to teach each other and connect through visual media. This opportunity is free of cost and open to all Indigenous youth between the ages of 14-29, residing in BC.
