Children Who Witness Abuse

The Ann Davis counselling team offers education in a group format, to children who have experienced conflict in their families. Even when children are the indirect victims of abuse, it can have a negative impact in their lives.

Divorce Care for Kids

Many children in our city have been affected by divorce and struggle through it without a safe place to process through the emotions surrounding it. DC4K is a thirteen week faith-based program designed to help children grades 1-6 work through the hurt and confusion of divorce.

Family Therapist

Counselling for relationship or individual difficulties. Support and encouragement of alternate coping mechanisms are stressed. Monday to Friday per scheduled appointment, 45938 Wellington Avenue. For families and individuals referred by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

Play Therapy

The children’s counsellor provides a safe place for children to talk about their thoughts and feelings. Play Therapy can help to enhance self-esteem, strengthen family relationships, expand their vocabulary for emotions, and build on healthy coping skills which they can then use, to deal with various situations, for the rest of their lives.

Specialized Victim Assistance Worker

Provides justice related services to victims of relationship abuse, sexual assault, child abuse (sexual & physical) and child witnesses. Also for Elder abuse, Criminal Harassment within context of a relationship, this may include recent or past abuse. Services included are information, support, court referrals and court assistance related to the criminal justice system. Male or female—adult, youth or child are welcome. Drop in or scheduled appointments, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm, 45938 Wellington Avenue. Self, community or professional referrals accepted.
