Our Work
The Chilliwack CYC meets monthly at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre on the first Tuesday of the month from 9am to 11am.
Early Years Sub-committee
The Early Years subcommittee is made up of 20 different agencies and organizations who seek to foster community participation and support a service delivery system that enables all children 0–5 years to thrive.
- We commit to truth, reconciliation, and healing to address the inequity of outcomes for Indigenous families.
- Support responsive relationships.
- Strengthen core skills.
- Reduce sources of stress.
Middle Years Sub-committee
The Middle Years Subcommittee focuses on the needs of children and youth ages 6–12 years. Core members are representatives of community programs, organizations, and government funded programs that have some mandate in connection to children at risk in the middle year age group (in Chilliwack). The committee has developed and is guided by a strategic plan and an action plan.
Youth Matters Sub-committee
The Youth Matters Subcommittee focuses on the needs of youth ages 13–26 years and seeks to develop a comprehensive, coordinated system of community supports and services.
Annual Conversation Steering Committee
A committee that represents 8–10 different agencies to plan for the annual conference each April. They meet every other week from November to March and then weekly for the month of April.
Every Door is the Right Door
Every Door is the Right Door is an initiative of the Chilliwack Child and Youth Committee to ensure that children, youth, and their families are receiving the supports they require in a timely manner. No matter which agency door a client may knock on, they will be directed to the services that best meet their needs. This committee is responsible for planning the delivery of the EDRD workshops in the community as needed. An EDRD award is presented to one agency at the Annual Conversation that has integrated or is working towards integrating the six EDRD principles.
